Jim Carrey's Natal Horoscope

For reasons I find amusing to explain (dreams I've had), I have been fascinated lately with Jim Carrey. As a result of that interest, I decided to put together a natal horoscope for Jim Carrey. The terminology comes from a program I own; therefore, they are not my own words, but I thought that since astrology and paranormal go hand in hand, I'd post the chart in this blog. Here is the interpretation of Jim Carrey's chart based on his birth information:

PART ONE: THE INNER YOU
In Part One of the interpretations you will read two sections concerned with your individual traits.

The first section describes your ego (sun), emotional make-up (moon), learning and intellectual orientation (Mercury), relationships and sociability (Venus), and the expression and focus of your physical energy (Mars).

The second section describes how well you deal internally with the external situations that you experience in life. Your capacity for happiness (Jupiter), ability to tolerate restrictions and frustrations (Saturn), how you are associated with or relate to new or innovative ideas and methods, and radical ideas and events that upset the status quo (Uranus), how you are associated with or affected by public ideals, morality, and spirituality (Neptune), and how you are associated with or affected by public policies toward crime, toward the power of government and industry, and toward exploration, development, conservation and distribution of natural resources (Pluto).

SUN
The sun rules will power and ego. It is the core of your potential and uniqueness as an individual; who you are and what you are about. It represents the main direction and focus you want your life to take, and your determination to accomplish what you set out to do. It is your personal honesty and integrity, and the ability to command respect and authority, to impress and influence others.

SUN in CAPRICORN
As the tenth sign of the zodiac, Capricorn represents the tenth stage in the evolution of man and his place in the universe. Having gained power and control through emotions and knowledge in Scorpio and Sagittarius, Capricorn seeks control by virtue of authority. All authority is given its control by rules and regulations which civilized society accepts and with which they must comply in order to progress. For all their concern with legality or the propriety of things, Capricorns can be guilty of making or enforcing rules they themselves do not follow. Blinded by their own ambition, and obsessed with their goals, they adopt the philosophy that the end justifies the means.

Capricorns are doers. They set out to accomplish things and are determined to succeed one way or another. By nature they are executives and managers. Ambitious, pragmatic, and goal-oriented, they learn how to get things done. The mountain goat is an appropriate astrological symbol for this sign since a sure-footed, methodical climb to the top is the main goal of Capricorn individuals. They aspire to positions of power and authority, and they admire others who attain such positions. Initiative and willingness to accept responsibilities are keys to their success. Wanting to be admired and respected, they do not want to appear weak or ineffective. This false pride makes it hard for them to admit when they are wrong or to ask others for help. Though they aggressively compete for what they want with apparent sureness, they harbor inner lack of confidence which makes them defensive. Viewing insecurity and fear as weaknesses, they attempt to hide such feelings, making it hard for others to get close to them. As children they have unusual maturity. They are in a hurry to participate in the adult world and often get along better with older children and adults than with their peers.

Capricorns react to what they experience by assessing its possible worth. Before they take physical action, before they sort out their emotional involvement, and before they reason it out intellectually, they must ascertain what tangible advantages are to be gained from the experience. They gladly work long and hard if it means getting what or who they want. They can be very lazy if they see no sense in working, or if they can achieve the same goals in a less strenuous manner. They have a good sense of humor but will not tolerate being ridiculed or teased on a personal level. Those who set out to so abuse a Capricorn, will soon learn the error of their ways.

Saturn, planet of structure and reality, is the ruler of Capricorn, which means that Capricorns need to know and understand limits in all areas of life. Early in life they should be taught traditional values, rules and regulations, and proper thought and behavior. Even if they reject these things later, it allows them to develop and focus on specific goals. Without the structure of rules, restrictions, and values to guide them up the mountain toward their goals, they lose their way. Ambition and enthusiasm fade. Knowing the rules and regulations and the way that society is structured makes them feel they understand the reality of life. And for Capricorn, once the reality of something is understood, it is much easier to handle and manipulate. This approach makes them good builders, engineers, politicians, lawyers, and business executives. Capricorns often look older or more mature when they are young. However, when they reach middle age the reverse occurs. They seem to defy the aging process, and retain a remarkably youthful appearance well into old age.

Capricorns usually do not have a predisposition to be fat. Good dietary habits in their youth tend to stay with them as adults. Their innate spirit of competition makes them enthusiastic sportsmen. They can be so aggressively determined to win, it is difficult for them to be gracious when they lose. They make good team players as well as good team managers. Jogging, running (especially cross-country), golf, skating, hunting, wrestling, boxing, martial arts, and body-building are favorite activities. They also favor gun collecting, perhaps because guns are undeniable symbols of authority.

Capricorn colors are chocolate brown, royal and navy blue, dark green, charcoal gray, and red. Vulnerable parts of the body are the bones and joints (especially the knees), teeth, and skin. Though sensitive skin, allergies, and broken bones are their most likely complaints, worrying too much can also result in physical problems. The garnet is Capricorn's birthstone. This gemstone is believed to keep its wearers from accidents and falls. In some ancient societies garnets were worn only by royalty. Capricorn flowers include the camellia, orange blossom, carnation (red), baby's breath, and magnolia.

MOON
The moon rules desire as opposed to ego, need as opposed to expediency or reason. It describes how you feel about yourself, how you handle relationships, and how you emotionally respond to situations and experiences. It describes the flow of your daily functions; physical, emotional, and mental. The moon represents your residence and domestic environment. It rules babies and young children, your mother and other important females in your life.

MOON in GEMINI
Those born with the moon in an Air sign usually respond to situations in a way they think should fit the facts, that is, they act in a way they think others expect them to act, or they imitate the same behavior as others. This gives them the appearance of emotional coolness or non-involvement. Before turning a situation into a physical experience, and before considering the stability or practicality of the thing, or even how they may really feel about it, they tend to do and say what seems appropriate as if it were not really happening to them. In spite of what appears to be their analytical detachment, most of them are loving and loyal in relationships. As lunar Air sign personalities, those with moon in Gemini can sometimes take their intellectual approach too far. Constant analyzing, rationalization, and acting as though they had already experienced something instead of just thinking or talking about it, can prevent them from ever doing it. They are talkative, mentally alert, and curious about everything. Always looking for some kind of intellectual stimulation, they get bored by repetitive tasks and the same environment day after day. Attracted by intrigue and idle gossip, they pay too much attention to what everyone else is doing. Restless and impatient, they do not always take time to get all the facts before repeating things. As eager to share information as they are to receive it, many of them are talented teachers, writers, and communicators of one sort or another.

Gemini moon personalities are emotionally adaptable. A dual-natured flexibility allows them to say or do one thing with apparent ease, even though what they really think and feel may be quite different. They instinctively understand what others want to hear and what to do to please them, but they don't always know how to make themselves happy. Though quite willing to discuss others, they can be secretive about themselves. Their outer personality may be bright and optimistic but they can harbor inner feelings of loneliness. Moon in Gemini personalities love secrets and solving puzzles. They have highly sensitive nervous systems and, in order to maintain proper physical and mental health, they need to be given varied tasks and opportunities for frequent change of scene or alterations in their daily routine.

Women with Gemini moon are talented with their hands. Though efficient and organized, a certain restlessness makes it difficult for them to remain content with household chores. Men with Gemini moon are quite charming but their temperaments are not particularly suited to sustained passion in themselves or tolerating emotional hysteria in others.

MERCURY
Mercury indicates mental outlook, intellectual endeavors, the way you think and communicate. It represents ideas, methods, and information. It rules your hands and thus your manual dexterity and mechanical skills. Mercury also describes transportation; that is, how you get where you're going physically and mentally. Do you speed with all possible haste or amble along taking a few detours here and there?

MERCURY in AQUARIUS
Those with natal Mercury in Aquarius have a curious, but usually compatible, mixture of characteristics associated with their thoughts and ideas and the expression of those ideas. These individuals are stimulated by unusual or unorthodox methods and ideas, which they are often successful at fitting into traditional systems. They have respect for tradition, but are also able to express traditional ideas in an avant-garde or unorthodox manner. They can be very stubborn and opinionated, while at the same time maintain liberal, unbiased attitudes. They are inclined toward design, architecture, science, finance, and, in some cases, music or literature. In the matter of learning and transportation, they can be unpredictable and, at times, highly original and unique. Whatever they do, they always seem to wittingly or unwittingly attract a crowd.

VENUS
Venus rules your social attitudes and behavior, and your aesthetic tastes and inclinations. It is female relationships and social interactions at every level. Venus indicates your values. It describes romance, marriage and other partnerships, capacity for humor, and the pursuit of pleasure.

VENUS in CAPRICORN
These individuals are apt to exhibit the restrictive influence of Capricorn in dealing with romantic entanglements. Nor can their social attitudes and behavior be described as very glib or spontaneous. Though it may not be their intention to do so, they may appear brusque or abrupt when dealing with those they do not know well. In spite of this, most of them enjoy social gatherings. A cautious nature makes them feel more comfortable in relationships and social situations that are formal, purposeful, and to some extent, calculated. This type of approach helps remove the possibility of personal rejection which is something they wish to avoid at all costs. No matter how easy-going or strong their outer personality may appear, it is likely that underneath they may feel insecure. Consciously or subconsciously they want to make some practical use of their associations.

MARS
Mars rules physical energy and efforts. It describes the strength and direction of the physical force that drives your ego, fires your emotions, and encourages your mental endeavors and communicative skills. It describes male relationships and associations, risk-taking inclinations, and the physical challenges you are likely to encounter.

MARS in CAPRICORN
Individuals with Mars in Capricorn are aggressively ambitious. They act more decisively and with greater confidence when they are acting within the limits of what is legally and socially acceptable. They are also more effective when they know they are being observed, and when they know that what they are doing commands respect. Rejection in business or romance is not something they accept easily, and they continue to relentlessly pursue their goals in any way they think will work. The influence of Capricorn may mean a certain ruthlessness in their nature, but that is what it takes to succeed in the fiercely competitive situations they pursue. These individuals are often the ones responsible for bringing about greatly needed changes, and establishing institutions and structures that ultimately benefit many people other than themselves.

JUPITER
Jupiter rules your potential for growth and expansion on many levels; physical, intellectual, spiritual, cultural, and the accumulation of material assets, power, and status. It describes your optimism and aspirations. It represents your father and his position in society.

JUPITER in AQUARIUS
Individuals with natal Jupiter in Aquarius can operate efficiently within traditional ideas and institutions, while at the same time be receptive to ideas and activities which seem fantastic or bizarre to other people. Indeed, they are apt to experience their greatest personal progress and growth by successfully dealing with situations that involve rebelling against tradition or the established order. These individuals are likely to possess extremely broad-minded social attitudes. They can be effective catalysts within various organizations and groups.

SATURN
Saturn rules responsibilities, restrictions and limitations you are apt to encounter, and the lessons you must learn in life. It does not deny or diminish imagination, inspiration, spirituality, and good fortune but it does demand that these things be given structure and meaning.

SATURN in AQUARIUS
Individuals with natal Saturn in Aquarius are confronted with situations that in order to be successful need organization, dedication and stability, yet must also have room for freedom and original thinking. Somehow they have to effectively deal with the conflict between control and non-control. They are responsible for wise use of freedom, as well as accepting (or imposing) the rigidity of organization and discipline that are also necessary if anything is to be accomplished.

URANUS
Uranus rules personal as well as societal freedom. It indicates originality of thought and expression. In society it rules radical ideas and people as well as revolutionary events that upset established structures. Uranus takes approximately seven years to transit one sign, taking about 84 years to complete all twelve signs. Since groups of people with Uranus in the same sign are separated by 84 years, the influence of this planet in a sign is generational. The personal implications of Uranus in your life are described by its house position and the aspects it makes with other planets in your natal chart. It describes areas of unpredictability, and where you or your life style may be different than those around you. It relates to the unusual or unique. Friends and associations to which you belong are also indicated, as is your potential involvement with science and technology, computers, and the media.

URANUS in LEO
The generation of individuals born with natal Uranus in Leo are likely to be involved in the creative arts. They introduce their ideas with innovative flair and great boldness in defiance of traditional concepts. Leo is also associated with scientific research and humanitarian gestures, so these individuals may also be expected to attack old problems with new energy, ideas and methods.

NEPTUNE
Neptune rules those who are oppressed or abandoned; the misfits of society. On a higher level it rules visionaries, and those who are glamorous and charismatic. It represents spirituality, mysticism, and ideals. Neptune is in one sign for approximately thirteen years, taking about 164 years to complete its cycle through all twelve signs. Since 164 years separate people born during its transit of one sign and those born when it returns, Neptune's significance in any sign is described as generational or historical. On a personal level, Neptune's house position and the aspects it makes with other planets in your natal chart will describe spirituality, abstract thinking, illusion, disillusionment, and other areas of your life where things aren't always what they seem. It rules derangement, guilt, persecution, and describes the potential for experiences related to confinement, abandonment, and addiction or physical intolerance to drugs.

NEPTUNE in SCORPIO
The latest period of Neptune in Scorpio was 1955-1970 and the influence of Neptune in Scorpio had observable impact. Sexual codes (Scorpio) prior to the 60's dissolved (a Neptunian influence). Sexually explicit material invaded the media and everyday life. Drugs and creation of a counter-culture eroded the family and traditional values (Neptune). Spying and secret surveillance (Scorpio) in public and private life were evident in fact and fiction.

PLUTO
Pluto takes approximately 248 years to make one cycle through all twelve signs. The period Pluto spends in each sign can vary from twelve years to thirty two years due to the eccentricity of its orbit. Like atomic energy (a force ruled by Pluto), the presence and direction of Pluto's energy are never obvious until it is used. Pluto’s influence in any sign is interpreted as generational or historical. In your personal life, Pluto's significance is interpreted from its house position and the aspects it makes to other natal planets in your horoscope. Pluto rules intense energy, and describes the areas in which you consciously or subconsciously seek to exercise power or control. Pluto is also linked to your karmic responsibility, and in this respect, it describes the areas where you must gain the deepest level of understanding.

PLUTO in VIRGO
Pluto's last period in Virgo was 1957-1971. Virgo rules health, practical applications of science and technology, and the work force. During the recent Pluto transit in Virgo, the general state of America's health and welfare underwent unprecedented changes, computers came of age, and the once powerful unions experienced great loss of influence.

PART TWO: THE OUTER YOU
In Part Two you will read about the twelve houses of the horoscope. The houses represent areas of life in which you operate on a daily basis. You will read descriptions of how you handle the circumstances you encounter in each of these areas, according to your nature, personality and other traits as they are outlined in Part One.

HOUSE 1
The first house and the sign that rules the first house, which is also known as the Ascendant or Rising sign, describes your outer personality and physical attributes. To some extent it also describes your health and the type of illnesses you may experience.

SCORPIO ASCENDANT
A Scorpio Ascendant indicates individuals who are likely to have strong physiques and tremendous physical stamina. They are often far more stubborn than they seem on the surface, and assiduously stick to their goals as long as they feel there is a chance they will be successful. It is difficult to convince them to change their minds once their decisions are made.

They are emotionally oriented, but their emotional vulnerability is apt to be hidden unless their natal sun or moon happens to be in Cancer or Pisces. They are are friendly and while some are rather quiet, many of them also have far more gregarious personalities and don't mind being in the spotlight. Rarely do these individuals possess the sinister or mysterious personalities that popular literature tends to associate with the sign of Scorpio. They are keen observers and shrewd speculators.

Scorpio is ruled by Pluto and, secondarily, by this sign's ancient ruler, the planet Mars. Both planetary influences may be seen in the personalities of these individuals. They are ambitious, energetic, and seek activities that are economically rewarding, as well as mentally or physically challenging. The jealousy associated with Mars and Pluto is minimal unless other factors in their individual personalities support such a trait. Many of them possess the cleverness and mechanical ability associated with Mars, as well as the innate resourcefulness associated with Pluto. They are attracted to others with strong, magnetic personalities. They are oriented toward gathering resources of all kinds. For example, many of these individuals consciously or subconsciously tend to establish relationships with strong or powerful people in the belief such contacts may prove useful to them in some way. They can be quite secretive about personal affairs, a trait that often escapes the attention of most people they meet. They are often so accommodating and pleasant that, unless others make serious attempts to probe beneath their surface, their real personalities and activities stay hidden indefinitely.

They have remarkable recuperative powers that allow them to recover from physical, mental or economic adversities that would destroy many others. When properly focused, their energy is formidable and they quietly keep going long after everyone else runs out of steam. A Scorpio Ascendant indicates potential for afflictions to the head and face as well as illnesses affecting the reproductive organs.

HOUSE 2
The second house describes material assets, how you handle monetary income, and the potential ways it may be earned. It also indicates the values and priorities you establish throughout life.

SAGITTARIUS on 2nd HOUSE
Sagittarius ruling the second house indicates those who would very much like to succeed on their own. They may work for others but would rather work for themselves. They value independence, especially in monetary matters, and will thrive on the challenge involved in making their own fortunes. The Sagittarian influence is no guarantee they will end up being self-employed, or that even those who are self-employed will be successful. It is however, an indication that their income may be derived through travel or trade in foreign goods and services, consulting, publishing, theater, education, sports, or religion. The negative potential of Sagittarius ruling the second house, includes the possibility of individuals who marry strictly for monetary gain or acquire money or property through dishonest means, or individuals who become victims of such circumstances. The influence of Sagittarius does not necessarily imply great wealth or luck in monetary matters or inhibit the opportunity for it. But there is implication that these individuals are very generous with the potential tendency to spend great sums of money and to waste money as well as other resources.

MARS in 2nd HOUSE
Mars in the second house indicates those who exert more energy and enthusiasm in what they do to earn money than in the actual pursuit of money for its own sake. They are apt to be more enthusiastic spenders than savers. If they do develop the love of wealth for its own sake, they can become so passionately dedicated to the accumulation of money, they never stop to spend it or enjoy any of the advantages it can provide. The influence of Mars in the second house suggests that assets may come through men or a particular male influence. Income for these individuals may also be derived through Mars-ruled enterprises such as manufacturing, sports, armed forces, fire fighting, and physical labor rather than mental endeavors. Mars represents animated life. Whether or not they are conscious of it, these individuals value energy and vitality as desirable assets and are attracted to these qualities in others. Unless others factors in their personality subdue the restless influence of Mars, they find it difficult to enjoy doing absolutely nothing. They want to spend their energies as easily as they spend their money.

HOUSE 3
The third house describes your mental state, intellectual orientation, self-expression and communication, early education, mechanical dexterity and skills, immediate environment (neighborhood), and siblings. It indicates physical actions, and transportation, especially within your immediate environment. To a certain extent the third house also describes the job or health of your father.

CAPRICORN on 3rd HOUSE
Capricorn ruling the third house indicates individuals whose learning processes or communicative skills may be limited or frustrated, or their education is limited. It implies the possibility of lack of imagination, reluctance of verbal expression, learning disabilities, and sight, hearing, or speech impediments. These individuals may view educational tasks as unpleasant or tedious, but later in life they may be more receptive, even eager, to learn and to communicate their thoughts and ideas. Another area influenced by Capricorn on the third house involves relationships with siblings. It can mean, for example, a great age difference between these individuals and their siblings and the relationships are necessarily limited by the generation gap, or it can mean they may have responsibility for a sibling. Another common occurrence under Capricorn's influence is an extremely close relationship with a sibling that fosters too much dependence in one or both of them. Relationships with neighbors may be restricted. The positive side of Capricorn’s influence implies long and stable relationships with neighbors and siblings, as well as talent and organizational ability in dealing with ideas and information.

SUN in 3rd HOUSE
Sun in the third house indicates those who assert themselves through their thoughts and ideas, though it does not necessarily mean that they seek a public forum in which to express themselves. Much depends on their individual personality and background. Some are content with merely keeping personal diaries. Others find adequate self-expression through artistic endeavors. The sun's influence in the third house indicates creativity and enthusiasm in communication, and, in some individuals, a definite tendency for theatrics and the use of hyperbole. Outgoing or introverted, they are all communication-oriented. Avid letter-writers, constantly on the telephone, or engaging in one meeting or another, these individuals are in continuous contact and interaction with others. They usually possess mechanical, design, or computer skills, as well as the enthusiasm to develop and use them.

SUN conjunct VENUS
These individuals usually possess natural charm and social ease. Their egos are tied into their relations and interactions with others. They need to be liked and seek a wide variety of social contacts. The negative side of this aspect includes those who are antisocial and shun the company of others, or become rude and hostile. They are susceptible to flattery and not above using it themselves with successful effect. They are apt to be attracted to art, music, and beauty in all forms. Unless there are negative factors in their personalities or backgrounds to discourage such traits, they have good humor and the ability to flirt without offense.

SUN conjunct MARS
These individuals are apt to have innately restless natures. This restlessness may be apparent in their constant competitiveness, inability to settle down, or tendency to practically kill themselves with overwork. There is a good bit of self-absorption and, though they may not be intentionally selfish, they can be careless about the feelings of others. They are apt to get caught up in a certain amount of possessiveness, jealousy, and quick anger, but these feelings may not last too long and they are nearly always generous enough to forget the grievance and quickly get on with other things.

SUN conjunct SATURN
Inhibitions these individuals feel as adults are likely to have been caused by austere or restricted childhoods. Whether they end up liking it or not, accepting it or rebelling against it, their success in life requires tradition and structure. They are usually very ambitious and strive for positions of authority. There is too much worry in some of these individuals, and they tend to be sober and inflexible, always sticking rigorously to the rules. It may be easier for them to accept the difficulties in life than to just relax and enjoy things, without constantly looking over their shoulders for trouble. On the positive side this aspect also signifies those of great character and strength, the people whom others come to admire and trust.

MERCURY in 3rd HOUSE
Mercury in the third house indicates those who are natural communicators. Since communication and transportation are the areas governed by the third house, Mercury’s influence here indicates writers, teachers, publishers, salespersons, secretaries, and those involved in community projects, mail delivery, telephones, or other businesses concerned with communication, transportation and travel. Other mental occupations such as design and engineering are also indicated. These individuals are apt to have above average mechanical and artistic skills. The negative potential of this Mercury house position includes the possibility of speech impediments, hearing loss, or learning disabilities. It can also indicate those who are very uncoordinated, accident prone, and who constantly have trouble with mechanical devices. Mercury’s influence implies constant contacts with siblings as well as with neighbors. These individuals seem to always know what's going on. They are apt to have a high degree of instinctual understanding. Not ESP exactly, but what may seem like ESP.

MERCURY conjunct JUPITER
Mercury conjunct Jupiter indicates those who may or may not seek to attain advanced degrees but sooner or later get caught up in expanding their consciousness and improving their intellectual horizons on some level. Their disposition toward communicating with others is generous, and they are happy to share ideas and information, though they may tend to attach too great of an importance to their own thoughts and opinions at times.

MERCURY square NEPTUNE
Mercury square Neptune indicates those likely to possess artistic talent and sensitive intellects. However, in trying to implement projects and schemes, they may have trouble being recognized for their contributions or ideas, or continually run into difficulty due to their lack of organization. They may adopt an unrealistic approach that makes it hard for others to implement their ideas on a practical level.

VENUS in 3rd HOUSE
Venus in the third house indicates those who are very communicative and social, especially within their immediate environment. They have good relations with neighbors and actively participate in community projects. They have close, or at least very cordial relationships with siblings, and there is apt to be much visiting back and forth. Negative factors in their personality or background indicate disputes and other disagreeable situations with neighbors or siblings. The influence of Venus in the third house suggests fondness for books, and many of these individuals possess extensive book collections. It also indicates involvement in art, music, sales, diplomacy, banking, law, public relations, counseling, beauty, cosmetics, fashion, interior design, jewelry, or flowers. These same areas may also represent their father’s employment. There is potential for partnership with a sibling, classmate, or neighbor.

VENUS conjunct MARS
Venus conjunct Mars indicates those with an aura of warmth and vitality that lies close to the surface. It is very attractive to others though they may not exactly realize what it is that makes these individuals so appealing. They are oriented toward careers or aggressively pursuing other important goals. As a rule they can usually be counted on to have an enthusiastic response to sexual encounters. This aspect also implies those with either talent for art or the appreciation of it.

VENUS conjunct SATURN
Venus conjunct Saturn indicates those whose enjoyment of many things may be restricted by poor health, debt, loneliness, or too many responsibilities. Romantic encounters are apt to be with those who are older or represent authority figures. Common sense and practicality dominate, making it hard for them to indulge in whimsy. On the positive side however, they are able to give structure and purpose to artistic endeavors, which is often the key to making such projects important and successful rather than merely frivolous or fanciful.

JUPITER in 3rd HOUSE
Jupiter in the third house indicates the likelihood of those who are very talkative. They are born communicators and salesmen. Though very anxious to learn, it doesn’t make them scholars. If they have trouble with school, it’s because they prefer to learn things on their own, going in whatever direction their interests and curiosity lead rather than plodding through repetitious lessons. They need to constantly expand their intellectual horizons, even if it is only by reading the daily newspaper. Jupiter in the third house implies mechanical ability, artistic skills, or writing talent. They and/or their father may work in sales, advertising, drama, dance, publishing, travel, promotion, politics, education, or religion. These individuals tend to get involved with community actions and projects. Jupiter's influence implies generosity to family members as well as to neighbors. Negative factors in their personality or background can mean inability to settle down, physical awkwardness (sometimes to the point of being accident prone), disorganization, procrastination, unwillingness to take responsibility, and tendency to shade the truth or exaggerate facts.

JUPITER square NEPTUNE
Jupiter square Neptune implies a generation with misplaced idealism, counterproductive sentimentality or out-and-out fraud. It is imagination no one quite knows how to handle. Pop art, plastic flowers, and erosion of traditional structures tends to make this generation unaware of what should be valued and what should be rejected. They think something is missing, but aren't quite sure what it is.

SATURN in 3rd HOUSE
For individuals with Saturn in the third house, the biggest lessons in life involve thinking, learning, communication, and the development or use of basic skills. Circumstances may prevent or greatly restrict their early education, or they may simply be uninterested students. Later in life, however, they are more receptive, even eager to learn and to communicate their thoughts and ideas. The negative potential of Saturn includes those with learning disabilities and sight, hearing, or speech impediments. It also suggests those who suffer from depression, or are overly cautious and pessimistic. Other areas of concern involve siblings, and there are several possibilities regarding them. These individuals may be deprived of such relationships by being an only child. A generation gap can limit contacts or understanding with much older siblings. They may have to assume responsibility for younger brothers and sisters. Relationships with neighbors and schoolmates can be stable and long-lasting, but loss of privacy or other burdens can sometimes complicate these associations. Travel may be restricted, or accommodations while traveling may be austere. Cars and other vehicles these individuals own may be few in number, and unlikely to be luxurious or impractical. Their vehicles may, however, give them many years of dependable service. Saturn suggests those with a stable, practical (if unimaginative) mind. They are able to present well-organized and structured ideas and information, and to develop and make good use of their skills. They can be the soul of authority, reliability, and strength to their family and neighbors.

HOUSE 4
The fourth house describes your residence, domestic environment, and family members, especially your mother. It indicates the beginning as well as the end of various cycles in your life.

AQUARIUS on 4th HOUSE
Aquarius ruling the fourth house indicates the likelihood of unpredictable or unusual situations regarding childhood, a parent, and adult home life. These individuals are apt to live a very different lifestyle or in a different place or area than the one in which they were brought up. This may be a deliberate choice, but it can also be the result of circumstances beyond their control. They are apt to spend a certain period of time living under abnormal or unusual conditions. They tend to favor unusual designs and architecture and many of them enjoy building their own homes. Inside their houses their preferences are either antiques and an assortment of odd or interesting furnishings and designs, or very contemporary, futuristic styles. In many cases they enjoy mixing the very old with the very new in unusual eclectic arrangements. Everyone is welcomed into their homes as a friend, and their residences are apt to be favorite gathering places for groups and organizations to which they belong.

HOUSE 5
The fifth house describes your creative talent and imaginative powers, capacity for enjoyment and the pursuit of pleasure, romance, children, and speculative ventures.

PISCES on the 5th HOUSE
Pisces ruling the fifth house indicates the likelihood of secret romance. Other possibilities include individuals who indulge in, or are victims of romantic deception. They may become romantically involved with someone of a minority group, or who is disabled, addicted to drugs or alcohol, or works in medicine, the navy, maritime industries, or areas that involve the feet which means anything from being a dancer to working in a shoe store. It is also possible that their children (or lovers) may have remarkable artistic talent. They may suffer the loss of children, or have to assume responsibility for the adoption or care of children. There is danger of deception and loss in speculative ventures. Though it is also possible, if supported by other factors in their personalities and backgrounds, that they can develop valuable intuition in this area. If this is the case, they may be very lucky gamblers, but should never take their good fortune for granted. Vacations should be spent on ocean cruises or at least near water, especially the ocean.

HOUSE 6
The sixth house describes your job, daily responsibilities (paid and unpaid), and those who work for or with you. It also represents your health, and physical fitness.

ARIES on 6th HOUSE
Aries ruling the sixth house indicates individuals who concentrate much energy and vitality in their job or daily responsibilities. They may also be inclined to pursue health and physical fitness programs, sports, or animal husbandry. They are likely to have mechanical skills, which makes many of them inventors, surgeons, tailors, machinists, engineers, or builders of one sort or another. Those who possess managerial skills are tireless administrators who know how to extract maximum efficiency from their staffs. Preferring an active working environment, there is also the strong possibility they will deliberately choose a job associated with an element of risk, or work for a security force or branch of the armed services. Working for, or running a company involved in manufacture or sale of weapons, knives, explosive materials, or fire fighting equipment is also well within the potential occupations of those with a sixth house Aries influence. They are prone to high blood pressure, rashes, fever, headaches, or stress-related ailments.

HOUSE 7
The seventh house relates to marriage and partnership or joint ventures of any kind. It describes how you interact with people and how others tend to regard you. The seventh house is associated with legal matters, negotiations, contracts, and all open confrontations, pleasant as well as adversarial.

TAURUS on 7th HOUSE
Taurus ruling the seventh house indicates individuals who are apt to be outgoing and people-oriented. Without constant exposure to others they can become withdrawn and unmotivated because they depend on such interactions for inspiration and feedback. They may prefer doing most things in partnership, and their success in life is often a direct result of their cooperation with or through the influence of other people. The influence of Taurus implies a strong element of trust in their association with others, and that they derive much pleasure and enjoyment from marriage. It also indicates that marriage, business partnerships, and relations with others in general, should be fairly stable and enduring. The negative potential for Taurus on the seventh house indicates individuals who have difficulty finding the right partner, as well as those who possess antisocial attitudes or engender such feelings in others. The influence of Taurus on the seventh house implies individuals who want to use whatever people skills they possess in a practical way. As a result, many of them become lawyers, contract negotiators, agents or counselors.

HOUSE 8
The eighth house is related to taxes, debt, death, legacies, and the income you receive through marriage or business partner(s). It describes your resourcefulness, and your ability to develop and use material assets as well as personal skills and abilities. The eighth house also indicates sexual attitudes and behavior.

GEMINI on 8th HOUSE
Gemini ruling the eighth house indicates individuals who are apt to give a great deal of thought to the occult and arcane matters, psychological and psychic phenomena, and planes of existence beyond physical reality. They are also likely to be involved in such mundane things as stock market and commodity investments, tax matters, insurance, or in handling the financial affairs of others. The negative potential includes individuals who encounter unfortunate circumstances in these matters, or who get endlessly bogged down in details regarding them. It also indicates they may give more time and attention to thinking or talking about sexual matters than to physical participation. There may have to be mental as well as physical stimulation for these individuals to experience satisfactory sexual relations. Many of them can be secretive or engage in secret communications. They are apt to be quite brief and to the point. However when their interest is stimulated, they can engage in endless discussion and analysis, often exhausting the energies and informational resources of those around them.

MOON in 8th HOUSE
Moon in the eighth house indicates those who know exactly what they want, and go about satisfying their desires with remarkable tenacity. They are not apt to be glib or open concerning their emotional needs until what they want is in front of them, and then they may become very frank and explicit in expressing themselves. Others may find it difficult to fathom their true feelings because they so often appear emotionally self-contained or satisfied even when they are not. If supported by other factors in their personality and background, they are capable of being excellent researchers and investigators. They can be very competitive on an emotional level which allows jealousy and possessiveness to creep into their relationships. These individuals may have some special emotional involvement with legacies or concern with death. The income of marriage partners may be derived from family trusts, or from work in areas related to women, children, homes, food, nursing, and family.

MOON trine MERCURY
Moon trine Mercury indicates those with sound, balanced minds well integrated with their emotions. They have ability to develop organizational techniques, as well as the capacity to ascertain and analyze details even if they make no attempt to keep track of these details. Though it may not be deliberate manipulation on their part they usually know just what to say and when to say it. Instinctively knowing what others want to hear and their clever communication skills are the keys to their success.

MOON trine JUPITER
Moon trine Jupiter indicates those who get away with a lot. They can talk themselves into or out of any situation. Surrounded by, perhaps even responsible for scandal or criminal activities, they may be the only one to escape the consequences. Wastefulness, laziness, exaggeration and taking too much for granted are all potential traits accorded to this aspect, but so are great talent, genius, spirituality, and a bent for politics.

MOON square PLUTO
Moon square Pluto indicates those who may have the unfortunate habit of outsmarting themselves. They are apt to have analytical ability and keen perceptiveness but those traits can sometimes get in the way. Looking for hidden motives or continually thinking there may be something beyond the obvious may simply be a waste of their time. Revenge and possessiveness can threaten the happiness of relationships. Many of them have an instinctive understanding of power, where it is and who has it. Overcoming the need to possess power for themselves they can then set about to let it work for them indirectly, and in this way attain great success.

HOUSE 9
The ninth house describes higher education, advanced training, publishing, publicity, advertising, politics, foreign travel, foreign studies, religious and philosophical views and activities, and cultural pursuits. It relates to court decisions, a second marriage, and in-laws. To a certain extent the ninth house also describes the job or health of your mother.

CANCER on 9th HOUSE
Cancer ruling the ninth house indicates strong emotional identification with higher learning whether or not they get a degree, with cultural pursuits whether or not they have special talent, with publishing whether or not they are writers, with travel whether or not they go anywhere, with religion whether or not they are religious, or with politics whether or not they ever run for public office. The emotional identification they develop is also likely to leave them vulnerable not only to the influence of others but to extremes in thinking and behavior with regard to these areas. Cancer's influence presents the possibility they will reside near a university, church, theater, or museum, or become educated in a foreign country. It also suggests their mothers may be of foreign birth or of a different race or culture than their fathers.

HOUSE 10
The tenth house describes your career and other long-range goals, public reputation, superiors and those in authority. It also relates to your father and his influence in your life.

LEO on 10th HOUSE
Leo ruling the tenth house indicates those with strong egos that must find expression in some public manner. There is potential that the father plays a pivotal role in shaping their destinies. They may, for example, be given special strength or assistance from this parent. Even in the case of loss or absence of the father, it does not have to be a negative factor since it can also have the effect of making them stronger and able to push forward. Other possibilities include the fact that they may have responsibility for their fathers or bear a close physical resemblance to him. The potential of Leo's influence suggests that they will seek to attain positions of great honor or authority, or lead public lives as actors, politicians, lecturers, and spokespersons. They may work for themselves or occupy an elevated position in the company that employs them. Many of these individuals find it difficult to remain content solely with home and family. Even those who lovingly (and efficiently) manage family responsibilities will also seek to accomplish their personal goals.

URANUS in 10th HOUSE
Uranus in the tenth house indicates those who may unexpectedly attract public attention. Noteworthy activities that bring these individuals into the spotlight are likely to be connected with some impact they make on society, which can mean anything from criminal acts to humanitarian projects. These individuals may also have unusual or unorthodox supervisors. One of the strongest implications of Uranus in the tenth house is that at some point, usually after they have embarked on a particular career or life style, they are apt to go off in a completely different direction. Even if they do not initiate such a switch, some momentous circumstance over which they have no control can turn their life around. The influence of Uranus also implies that their career or activities may be unorthodox, dealing with an unusual subject or requiring unusual skills. Those who follow a more traditional career are usually attracted to medicine, music, communication, teaching, social work, computers, or the media. These individuals may suddenly or unexpectedly be separated from their father, or he may be unusual or unorthodox in some way. They rebel against authority and restrictions. When it suits their long-range purpose, however, they happily embrace more traditional ideas and methods.

PLUTO in 10th HOUSE
Pluto in the tenth house indicates those who want to control their own destiny and as a result, are reluctant to allow anyone to assume power or influence over their decisions or the directions they take. It must be added however, that they may not develop this desire until later in life. If, for one reason or another, they do not develop control over their own life, it is likely to become a significant impediment to their ultimate growth and maturity. Other Pluto potentials include those who focus intense energy in pursuing a career or other long-range goals. Whether or not they gain power and status themselves, they seem able to attract the attention and association of those who do. By choice or circumstance there may be secrecy and hidden control or manipulation related to a parent (usually the father), their career, or the amount of public influence these individuals possess.

HOUSE 11
The eleventh house rules friendships, organizations to which you belong, and income derived from self-employment or career (as opposed to wages earned from a job). It relates to the role you play in the lives of others as child, parent, lover, spouse, friend, social or business associate. The eleventh house also describes your hopes and aspirations and capacity for happiness.

VIRGO on 11th HOUSE
Virgo ruling the eleventh house indicates those who use friends and acquaintances as sounding boards and inspiration for their thoughts and ideas. They are also apt to be involved in fraternal associations and societies, playing active roles by holding office or serving on various committees. They are the ones likely to write or publish the newsletters or official communications of the organizations to which they belong. Their friends are apt to include those who are in the field of health and social services, as well as teachers, secretaries, clerks, writers, artists, designers, and those who are mechanically inclined. They will have more acquaintances than close friends, which may or may not have to do with the fact that many of their contacts are based on mental rapport or for practical purposes rather than emotional commitments. The negative potential of Virgo’s eleventh-house influence includes the possibility of being too critical of friends, being taken advantage of by friends, antisocial attitudes, and that they are too eccentric in their ideas or communication. The positive side of Virgo’s influence is the willingness to accept responsibility for friends.

HOUSE 12
The twelfth house describes the private and hidden side of life; your subconscious mind, dreams, the past, and those who wish you harm or work against your interests. The twelfth house relates to sorrow, disappointment, loss, solitude or confinement, hidden fears and worry. It also has connection with the job or health of your marriage or business partner.

LIBRA on 12th HOUSE
Libra ruling the twelfth house indicates individuals who can be extremely sensitive when it comes to relationships. This includes not just their own feelings but how they perceive or understand the feelings of others. They may, for example, have uncanny instincts concerning the subtle aspects of handling relationships that may not be obvious even to those with whom they share such relationships. The negative potential can mean disappointment or sorrow connected with relationships, and partnerships in particular. A lack of-self confidence can mean the tendency to like or even fall in love with anyone who pays them the slightest attention. Relationships can become a trap in other ways. They may become victims of those who threaten "suicide or worse", or, the reverse can also be true and they are the ones to use this destructive ploy in order to hold on to those who threaten to abandon them. The positive side of this influence is the possibility of artistic and musical talent. Their marriage partners may be employed in areas that involve the law, art, music, or the fashion or beauty industry.

NEPTUNE in 12th HOUSE
Neptune in the twelfth house indicates those with hidden vulnerability. They can be heavily influenced by dreams, feelings of guilt, and the past. The negative potential of twelfth house Neptune includes the possibility of those who struggle with despair, those who isolate themselves from society, and those who must be confined for one reason or another. Communication with their father may be disrupted from time to time by lack of awareness, fear, or misunderstanding. There is also the potential that their marriage partner may suffer from hypochondria and hard-to-diagnose illnesses. Their partner’s job may involve secret or illegal activities, naval or maritime industry, religion, photography, drugs, or charitable institutions. Positive influences of Neptune include those with remarkable intuition, artistic talent, sensitivity, vivid imagination, and spirituality. The ability to float in and out of reality makes these individuals masters of disguise.

NEPTUNE sextile PLUTO
Neptune sextile Pluto is an aspect of extremely long duration. The current sextile between these two planets has been affecting generations for the last forty years. This long term Neptune aspect influences on society represents constant opportunities to change the course of existing structures and pave the way for new ones. Those who will live under the influence of the other aspects (i. e. , conjunction, square, trine, and opposition) as they occur between these planets in the future will have to deal with the ideologies and other societal institutions that we have had the opportunities to create.

Let Me Mesmerize You

Origin article, Mesmerism, Hypnotism, and Artificial Somnambulism, was previously published on the now defunct site, Xomba.
"Your eyes are getting tired. You can barely keep them open. You are getting very sleepy."

The hypnotist's voice is soothing, calming, hypnotic. His subject falls into a trance-like state and has never felt more relaxed in his life. But is the hypnotist practicing hypnotism, mesmerism, or artificial somnambulism?

As the pendulum gently sways back and forth, the hypnotist's soothing voice induces in his subject a trance – and a belief that his subject is capable of doing anything the hypnotist suggests.

On stage at a cocktail lounge, for instance, a fully hypnotized patron answers the hypnotist's question, "Who is your favorite artist?"

"Eminem," the patron responds.

"Rap like Eminem!" the hypnotist commands and then adds, "You will not remember this event."

The patron stands in front of the audience, moving and rapping like Eminem, and the audience roars with laughter. Later when an audience member confronts the rapper with evidence that shows him performing as Eminem only minutes before, the patron becomes confused – he would NEVER stand in front of an audience to speak, let alone rap.

Hypnosis as entertainment is fun, but if somebody can be convinced to perform in a way that was previously uncomfortable for him, you have to wonder – could YOU be enticed, through hypnosis, to perform acts that contradict the moral and ethical beliefs you hold true about yourself?

Never say never. When people become enchanted by religious fanatics, enigmatic politicians, or even power-hungry peers, they become vulnerable and also sadly unaware of their slow and precipitous fall under the veil of deception.

Friends and family members, however, will notice a difference. The mind-numbing conditioning used by captivating and powerful individuals has sucked the souls from their loved ones and caused them to perform acts contrary to their previously held personal morals and ethics. A look into their eyes will tell loved ones that something is missing.

At that point, it should be noted, hypnosis has crossed the invisible threshold from mere suggestion to the more radical state known as brainwashing, a systematic and forcible type of conditioning used by cults and oppressive dictators who take away their followers' choices and implant instead the dictator's beliefs and mindset.

His influence is so powerful, in fact, that his followers will perform acts they might never have considered committing – what at first seems impossible, for example (killing anybody for any reason whatsoever), over time becomes not only possible for those bewitched into believing in killing for the common good, but also likely.

In its original form, hypnotism was used constructively as a way to help people. Hypnotism arose from Mesmerism after Franz A. Mesmer introduced the concept of animal magnetism (not to be confused with sexual attraction) or Magnétisme, which Mesmer distinguished from planetary magnetism and other forms of magnetism.

To Mesmer, animal magnetism was a form of psychic energy that manifested through "inward feeling." Detected by electrical energy that exists between matter in a fluid but invisible form, psychic energy within the magnetic fluid, when it becomes blocked, stops flowing, and the individual becomes sick. Mesmer believed that the fluid consisted of fire, air, and spirit, and that the way to unblock the natural flow of energy was by using his technique, Mesmerism.

For Mesmerism to work, though, according to Mesmer, a crisis must first be instituted, because Mesmer believed that crises brought about recovery. Without first generating crises (such as convulsions), illnesses could not be cured. Crises bring forces into the magnetic fluid that dispense obstacle-preventing wellness.

After removing blocks – which Mesmer believed could also indicate that the subject was possessed – Mesmer would then perform a sort of exorcism after which the body would return to harmony and equilibrium.

Though scientists (under the appointment made by Louis XVI) concluded that Mesmer's "magnetic fluid" did not exist, individuals in the occult field considered the phenomenon to be effective and practiced both mesmerism and hypnosis on their clients, the difference being that hypnosis worked by the power of suggestion and not by some magnetic fluid.

The word hypnotism was coined and made popular by James Braid, a surgeon who practiced Mesmerism. Today psychologists use hypnotism to cure a variety of ills, including obesity, and to eliminate habits, such as smoking.

Through the centuries since Mesmer first discovered Mesmerism, psychologists and parapsychologists alike have found its use advantageous; however, a more successful tool could be the use of Artificial Somnambulism instead of hypnotism or Mesmerism. Originated by one of Mesmer's original followers, the marquis de Puységur, Armand Marie Jacques Chastenet, artificial somnambulism proved to be quite remarkable as shown by Puységur's success rate.

As a precursor to Edgar Cayce, who healed himself while under hypnosis, Puys̩gur guided a young man named Victor to diagnose his own illness Рwithout experiencing convulsions (considered a break-through at the time).

Through an advanced state of awareness Р"magnetic lucidity " (what today we would call consciousness) РPuys̩gur, who practiced a spiritual, intuitive approach in helping his clients, duplicated his success time after time.

Like both Edgar Cayce and Chastenet, ordinary individuals have the ability to raise their consciousness and become sensitive and magnetically lucid. When we become aware, through magnetic lucidity, of illnesses residing within our bodies, we can heal ourselves and create more balance in our lives.

"I believe in the existence within myself of a power.
From this belief derives my will to exert it.
The entire doctrine of Animal Magnetism is contained in the two words: Believe and Want.
I believe that I have the power to set into action the vital principle of my fellow-men;
I want to make use of it; this is all my science and all my means.
Believe and want, Sirs, and you will do as much as I."
РMarquis de Puys̩gur
