Giovanna, an Italian Woman Impregnated by Aliens

If you haven't heard yet, an Italian woman claims to have been impregnated by aliens. What you see is an alleged photo of the fetus that was aborted from her.

Though I believe in a lot of metaphysical and paranormal ideas, and though the thought of aliens visiting our planet doesn't seem at all alien (forgive the play on words) to me, I have a difficult time believing a woman who claims to have been impregnated by aliens many times.

Why Don't Paranormal Investigators Use Kirlian Photography?

Kirlian photography is a method of photographing energy, making something typically invisible visible. As emotions between people become charged with different vibrations, the energy between them changes, and Kirlian photographers have caught the change and interchange of energy in Kirlian photographs.

While many skeptics claim that nothing at all can be proved with the Kirlian method, believers say that Kirlian photographs capture the energy emanating from the object being photographed. As I relate in my article, Kirlian Photography Shows Spirit Connections in Close Relationships, I wonder why paranormal investigators don't use Kirlian photography in their attempts to prove the existence of spirits. (In that article I link to another article about Kirlian Photography that discusses how the Kirlian method came about.)

It seems to me that if Kirlian photography showed the existence of spirits, paranormal investigators would include it as part of their investigative tools.

Kirlian photography is a subject that is more paranormal than it is metaphysical, and in my article Paranormal and Metaphysical: What's The Difference, I explain the distinction (or lack of distinction) between the two.

While metaphysics concerns itself with the more spiritual aspects of our existence, the paranormal is more concerned with the afterlife and has a "creepiness" factor that metaphysics doesn't. In other words, if you're thinking "ghost," you're thinking paranormal; if you're thinking "spirit," you're thinking metaphysical.

As I mention in the article posted above, paranormal falls under the umbrella of metaphysical, so Kirlian photography would be an interest both paranormal and metaphysical.  To learn more about Kirlian Photography, I've included a link to a book with the same name.

Use of Candles, Torches, and Fire in Rituals

I have always been mesmerized by candles and fire. I remember lighting rolled-up paper as a teenager and watching it burn. If my parents had known, they might have sent me to a therapist, but they never did (and unless they are reading this now, they'll never find out).

Don't get me wrong – I'm not a pyromaniac, but I love campfires, fireplaces, candles, fireworks, and anything fire related.

So when it came time to come up with an idea for my new Xomba article, I wanted to investigate fire rituals and I learned about some rituals I'd never known existed. I even found some videos of fire rituals, which I link in the article.

Fire can be peaceful, but it can also be destructive; its power enchants, but it also annihilates.

As you might guess, I prefer its more relaxing meditative qualities, and I enjoy a room filled with fragrant candles. Anybody who purchases candles as gifts for me knows that I will use them (if I'm not allergic to the fragrance).

Spirit Connections & Ghost Hunting

Relationships form for a variety of reasons. Marriage, parenting, friendship all have their own unique spiritual and physical connections. And while some relationships are closer than others, all relationships share one thing in common – energy.

People talk of sparks flying between two people who are attracted to each other, of a certain comfortable feeling that exists when people are in loving relationships, and in antagonistic relationships, a malevolent form of energy. Because energy never dies, the closer we are in life, the more probable a spirit will try to connect with us in death.

Kirlian photography is a technique using a Kirlian Imaging Device that purports to capture energy on film. Numerous experiments have been conducted using the Kirlian process.

Without the camera, we cannot see energy, but we know it exists. In spirits left behind, sensitive people feel the energy that once propelled the person in life.

Though some of the ghost hunting shows use infrared cameras and motion sensors to detect spirit activity, I can't help but wonder why programs such as Ghost Adventures or Paranormal State don't use Kirlian cameras to find ghosts.

Noah's Ark and Belief

With so much recent talk about Noah's Ark, you would think the find was brand new. But according to  Noah's Ark Found on Mt. Ararat? and numerous other sources cited in the article, the discovery was made long ago by other explorers.

So why do I bring up Noah's Ark in a paranormal blog? Because paranormal means, "not scientifically explainable," and apparently anything that cannot be proven and explained using our five physical senses falls into the category of paranormal.

EXCEPT...

Except when belief is present. Ask anyone who believes in the Bible if they believe in Noah's Ark, and you will find that yes, it exists exactly where the Bible says it exists, on Mt. Ararat.

Now comes the time for proof – for some people. If Noah's Ark has proven to be as old as the Bible indicates it is – by carbon dating performed with the aid of science – will people finally believe that the Ark was built during the time of Noah?

But wait – just because the Ark was built during that time period, does that necessarily mean that the Ark belonged to Noah?

That's when faith enters the picture. Faith is not scientifically explainable. Belief is not scientifically explainable. But just because you can't see it, hear it, touch it, taste it, or smell it, does that mean that it doesn't exist?
